Adam Shatz has traveled and reported extensively in the Middle East and North Africa for the London Review of Books and for the New York Review of Books. Formerly the literary editor of The Nation magazine, he was a senior editor at the London Review of Books from 2007 to 2011, and since 2011 has been a contributing editor at the London Review. He is perhaps best known for his profiles of such figures as Mahmoud Darwish, Adonis, Orhan Pamuk, Hassan Nasrallah, Fouad Ajami, Juliano Mer-Khamis, Yasmina Khadra, Khaled Meshaal and Sonallah Ibrahim.
